Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is a Republican in name only and proves daily he aligns more with the sleaze bags in the Democrat party than he does with the Republicans. He is crushing his state with regulations and Covid lockdowns. He also took the stance of many Democrat governors blocking their citizens’ right to worship freely.
Now the Blaze is reporting that Gov. Hogan said during his latest Covid briefing that Americans weren’t given the “constitutional right to walk around without a mask.”

The governor claims that Americans claiming that mask mandates are infringing on their constitutional rights is “sort of like saying I have a constitutional right to drive drunk.” He continues his condescending tirade claiming that those who don’t want to wear masks should be likened to someone who doesn’t want to “wear a seat belt or yell fire in a crowded movie theater, or to not follow the speed limit.”
The problem with this string of logic is that the science on those issues is finalized. There will not be “new data” showing that it’s safer to drive 80 miles an hour in a residential neighborhood without a seat belt. Most people against the mask mandates claim that mask mandates aren’t following the science, but rather, the mandates are being used as an indicator of conformity.

Gov. Hogan compares the number of people who have died from coronavirus to those who died in “the Korean War, the Gulf War, and the Vietnam War added together.” He says, “There’s no constitutional right to walk around without a mask, this is, we did it in 1918, I don’t know why we can’t do it now. Wear the mask.”
Gov. Hogan added that “about a quarter of a million people [died] already … which part don’t you understand?”

Maryland’s governor said that the state would be going back into a strict lockdown even though the data shows that the virus was worse in March than the state’s current numbers. Follow the science as they say.
Gov. Logan and other governors like him are beginning to tailor their tyranny. It isn’t enough to restrict our freedoms in public; they are reaching into our homes. The great thing about our country is that we have the right to protest anything, including wearing a mask.
Although the Constitution doesn’t specifically protect us from mask mandates, it gives us a specific recourse in our ability to protest against them.
Our Constitution was brilliantly designed to make tyranny hard to enact inside our country. The only way for it to be successful is for America to be under one-party rule, like Democrats having the Presidency, Senate and House of Representatives.
We are eerily close to seeing that be a reality. Republicans must hold the Senate if we want any ability to block tyranny.

And it is what we have seen for several years by both parties. We have seen more and more evidence that Republicans and Democrats have been working together for the same goal.
This all stopped when “We the People” elected President Trump. The line of succession was broken, and their power faded with every bad trade deal and regulation thrown out. “We the People” need to stand up again against tyranny. We cannot allow them to strip the Constitution of any safeguards protecting our rights.
