The Capitol is making some significant, maybe even hypocritical changes as Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech is fast approaching.
To start, they dumping the mask mandate at the Capitol Complex. As reported by Axios, Capitol physician, Brian P. Monahan, told members of Congress that masking is a personal choice and that wearing KN95 or N95 masks are no longer required.
Monahan wrote in his memo to staff, “The Washington DC region is now in the ‘green level’ or low level in this new CDC schema allowing for reduction in coronavirus prevention measures such as coronavirus testing frequency and indoor mask wear.”

Specifically, Capitol workers “may choose to mask at any time, but it is no longer a requirement,” Monahan said.
This comes two days after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) decided to change their mask guidelines Friday which went from everybody needs to mask, vaccinated or not, to it should be determined by the case rates at the community level.

“If you are in an area with a high COVID-19 Community Level and are ages 2 or older, wear a mask indoors in public,” according to the CDC website.
“None of us knows what the future may hold for us and for this virus,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said on Friday. “We need to be prepared and ready for whatever comes next. We want to give people a break from things like mask-wearing, when levels are low, and then have the ability to reach for them again, should things get worse in the future.”

Considering the number of counties and states across the country that have already dumped the mask mandate, it appears the CDC is finally giving in on forcing Americans to mask up just in time for what is sure to be a highly watched State of the Union speech.
Eliminating masks is not the only change happening at the Capitol. It would seem fear is taking root among Dem leadership as the threat of demonstrations looms so we will see the fence go back up to keep American citizens away from their government.
“In light of the upcoming State of the Union Address, and the possibility of demonstrations in the next couple of weeks, we have been working closely with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners on a security plan to prevent any disruption to the important work of Congress,” U.S. Capitol Police Chief Thomas J. Manger said Sunday in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, and in conjunction with the United States Secret Service, a plan has been approved to put up the inner-perimeter fence around the Capitol building for the State of the Union Address.”
It would seem that the coincidental easing of COVID-19 restrictions have put a damper on the American Freedom Convoy that was slated to arrive in Washington DC this past week and in time for Biden’s address on Tuesday.
Nonetheless, 700 National Guard troops have been called up and will be present around the Capitol should demonstrators get out of hand.

It is not doubt the Biden administration is concerned with demonstrators given the complete disaster that is the our current state of our union at their hands.
