In their ongoing effort to accommodate “transgender” military personnel, the Pentagon has announced that transgenders will be excused from the Air Force fitness test if they’re in the middle of their “transition.”
That’s right, airmen (air-women? Air-people? Air-humans?) who are “transitioning” from female to male or vice-versa will be exempt from their physical fitness tests if they’re in the middle of their hormone treatment. Officially, the order reads they can skip the test “during their period of transition, prior to a gender marker change in the MilPDS,” if they have already failed a test.

Air Force Secretary Deborah James (who has never served in the military), said: “This is another step in allowing transgender Airmen to serve openly, receive medical care relating to gender transition and allow transgender individuals to join the Air Force…Our strengths as a military are the quality and character of our people, and those things that make us unique are the same things that make us strong.”
So if the transgender troop tries – I guess I mean she/he really tries – to pass the fitness tests and still fails, they can get a note from their doctor telling their commanders that they really don’t have to do them until their transformation to the opposite sex is complete.

No later than July 1, 2017, all U.S. military branches will allow transgender people to join, and these rules apply to all existing transgender Airmen and all that will join in the future, AmericanMilitaryNews is reporting.
This comes on the heels of the government announcing that taxpayers will be paying for transgender sex changes and transitional operations for transgender military personnel.
In the memo, transgender Airmen may request to change dress and appearance standards prior to fully transitioning. The memo clarifies that, “Until an ETP request has been approved, transgender Airmen must adhere to their current gender’s dress and appearance standards as reflected in MilPDS.”

The memo also states that the “request will require supporting justification, an assessment by their immediate commander, and further recommendations by their chain of command” before being approved by Air Force headquarters.
While we’re supposedly busy fighting ISIS, dealing with Iran, and God knows who else, the Obama Administration is concerning themselves with making sure that transgender troops don’t have to do too may sit-ups or run too fast.
What nonsense.
