President Donald Trump has some of the brightest legal minds in the business, who have all spent countless hours and resources fighting in courts across the country in an attempt to expose voter and ballot fraud that might have cost Trump the election.
One pro-Trump lawyer currently involved in litigation in the state of Georgia, which Trump narrowly lost to former Vice President Joe Biden, is nationally-known attorney L. Lin Wood.
Wood, for all the good he’s done so far, ruined it over the weekend by encouraging Republican voters in Georgia to NOT go out and vote in the upcoming special runoff election that will literally decide the fate of who controls the U.S. Senate, according to Newsmax.

“Let’s speak truth about @SenLoeffler & @sendavidperdue. Why are they doing little or nothing to support efforts by GA citizens to address unlawful election & need for @BrianKempGA to order special session of legislature?” Wood tweeted. “If not fixed, I will NOT vote in GA runoff,” he continued. “Will you?”
In other words, Wood is blaming Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue for apparently not doing enough to help Trump overturn the election results in the usually-red state, then retaliating against them by asking his Georgia followers to not vote. At a time when Republicans desperately need every possible vote to hold on to the U.S. Senate.

He doubled down on his foolish idea in another tweet.
“Politicians love votes & money (not necessarily in that order). Want to get @SenLoeffler & @sendavidperdue out of their basements to demand that action must be taken to fix steal of the 11/3 GA election? Threaten to withhold your votes & money. Demand that they represent you,” he wrote.

Many die-hard supporters of the president — and people with a shred of common sense and reason — blasted Wood for his calls to withhold votes in perhaps the second-most important election in modern American history.
Not voting in the runoff might be the dumbest possible plan

As angry as I am, isn’t that cutting off the nose to spite the face? Do we really want a Democrat majority in the senate?

Not surprisingly, Democrats trolled Wood’s Twitter messages in droves, agreeing with Wood that it is, in fact, a great idea for Republicans to sit at home during the runoff election and not vote.
Honestly, I assumed Wood, given his vast legal credentials and experience, would clearly understand that while yes, there’s a slim chance that Trump will still be the president, it’s truly up in the air at this point. But in contract, we know with certainty that Republicans need to keep control of the Senate JUST IN CASE the worst-case scenario with Biden claiming the White House ends up happening.
I truly wouldn’t be surprised at this point if the Trump campaign distances itself from Wood just like they did with Sidney Powell on Sunday night. Obviously, we fully support any efforts to help Trump win, but at some point, we’re all going to need to deal in reality.
