In the wake of several terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom–first the bombing in Manchester and then the murders in London–President Donald Trump is more resolute than ever, calling for “tougher immigration restrictions and extreme vetting”.
According to The Daily Caller, in a series of tweets on the morning of Monday, June 5th, President Trump stated, “People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!”

He then went on to criticize the Justice Department and Attorney General Jeff Sessions for not staying with the “original travel ban” and, instead, submitted a “watered down, politically correct version” to the Supreme Court.

He tweeted, “The Justice Dept. should ask for an expedited hearing of the watered down Travel Ban before the Supreme Court–& seek much tougher version!”
Seven minutes later, the President went back to Twitter and tweeted, “In an event we are EXTREME VETTING people coming into the U.S. in order to help keep our country safe. The courts are slow and political!”

Critics of Trump’s travel bans suggest they are not only unconstitutional but also ineffective as the majority of terrorist attacks both the United Kingdom and the United States has seen in the past several years are a result of homegrown terrorism.
