President Donald Trump’s legal teams have had their work cut out for them since the day after the November 3 election, when it became clear to many that something beyond bizarre happened in a number of battleground states, with Biden taking a decisive lead in vote counts in almost all of them.
Wisconsin, part of the “Rust Belt” that Trump won against Hillary Clinton in 2016, was Trump’s once again to win. And he was winning them. And then something strange happened and he ended up losing some of the most significant states to former Vice President Joe Biden, including Wisconsin.
This week, Wisconsin officials certified the state’s vote counts and formally declared Biden as the winner, but that wasn’t going to stop Trump’s attorneys from pursuing actions to have the state disqualify a staggering 221,000 votes, claiming that there were irregularities that would ultimately invalidate them all.

The Trump campaign even shelled out millions of dollars to the state to force them to conduct a partial recount, in large-population counties where Trump’s lawyers believed the most foul play took place.
But on Thursday, the president’s lawyers received bad news from the state’s Supreme Court.

Wisconsin’s High Court told the legal team that in order for it to even consider taking their case, it would first have to “wind its way” through the state’s lower courts.
“Trump had wanted the conservative-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court to take the case directly, saying there wasn’t enough time to wage the legal battle by starting first with a lower court given the looming Dec. 14 date when presidential electors cast their votes. But attorneys for Gov. Tony Evers and the state Department of Justice argued the law required the lawsuit to start with lower courts,” a Newsmax report said.

As of this writing, it’s still unclear whether Trump and his lawyers will begin the journey of taking the case through the lower courts, but as Newsmax reported, the timing is most certainly not in their favor, as the upcoming Electoral College vote would essentially guarantee that those efforts would be fruitless.
Not surprisingly, Democratic Gov. Tony Evers slammed Trump and his attorney for trying to overturn any votes in the state, in an election he claims went off without a hitch.
“President Trump’s (lawsuit) seeks nothing less than to overturn the will of nearly 3.3 million Wisconsin voters,” Evers’ attorneys said. “It is a shocking and outrageous assault on our democracy. … He is simply trying to seize Wisconsin’s electoral votes, even though he lost the statewide election.”
Several other lawsuits from people outside of Trump’s official legal team, including a lawsuit from prominent defense attorney Sidney Powell, are still in the Wisconsin court system with no immediate updates.
